i see it this way -- if all the books in the world could be filled with his exploits -- we could run out of internet and still not get "the focus" -0-

or we could. but -- we face a Christendom which has had the mind trap of Constantines TOTAL militarist insincerity -- Constantoine and the Nicean council wrote the script for generations of Pharasiaical hypocrisy and warmongers who were NOT ALIGNED with the One we call The Prince Of Peace. never were, and probably WON'T be -- and we still have to pull the beautiful out of all that dross. It;s possible, but it requires more faith in faith itself than faith in scripture or the KJV.

--

i think it's just fine to leave it with little activity and only a few members. to many people on this planet = because of history -- Christianity is EXTREMELY UNPOPULAR.

because of wars. because of the Crusades. because of many things that people have done -- claiming they were doing it in His name -- that seemed so evil that people were just not able to lie to themselves.

it's better than maybe there aren't a lot of people. if people look for it, i hope it's here....

i'm not trying to shame you. perhaps we have different perspectives on the same point,
like people who are at different distances from the same mountain, or who see that mountain from a different angle.

i just think you're just giving up before the real fun part. my disappointment stems from that fact that i am as sure now as i was when i joined that this will be a fun group, eventually and with turgid conversation -- and a lot of interested members. including people who don't really understand the message of Love...

anyway, no, not trying to scare or shame you -- but yeah, used to misunderstandings being spread by computer...

if i showed disagreement, it's because i am sure that ending it would not be the WORST mistake -- but i am sure different things can happen if it sticks around.

because of the Nings i attended the first meeting of P5Y -- the Peace in Five Years initiative. We all got together OFF LINE and now there is The Peace Room, which is basically a teeny tiny cybercafe in North Boulder. But there are people aligned for peace.

i bet you are real busy with an offline ministry that is large and challenging. But whatever.

I have multiple nemesii, so arch just don't cut it, as neither does the usual manichaeistic categories.

okay mark. here is the thing. on may 30th my church is doing a concert with about 6 MN bands and we are raising money for MISSIO DEI!! so far we have aiming for aurora, if you will, smiling politely and crossbane. we are trying to get two other bands and we are setting a goal of raising $1,500 for missio dei. if we reach it or not is unknown but we will be able to get you at least SOMETHING.

so anyways. my dad (the pastor of the church) was wondering if you would be okay with coming and giving a quick little shpeal about missio dei and what you are about after the 2nd band plays. Tell me what you think. our church is Cross Point Church in Coon Rapids.

Mark, do you know of Food Not Bombs?
You know they meet and cook their food right down the street from you.

I've had lots of people get confused by my over-abundance of networks before. I try to keep them distinct, but it happens all the time.

What can I say, I'm an organizer. I'm actually trying to move away from organizing the Emergent Cohort, so that I can focus on my church (Missio Dei), fosterting Christarchy! groups, and organizing Submergent, a national group of emerging anabaptists.

There is no relationship between the Emergent Cohort and Christarchy! Christarchy can really happen anywhere, and is hopefully truly decentralized. Twin CIties Emergent Cohort wasn't started by me, but by a group of people from all over the Twin CIties. We could drop the "twin cities" part, but that would defeat the purpose of cohorts: they are meant to be contextual. Some cities have cohorts for specific areas of their city (like Chicago). If we called it the Minnesota Emergent Cohort, that would be ok, but I'd rather see cohorts form in places like Rochester and Duluth and Fargo/Moorhead.

Mark, You've got social networks all over the place springing up like mushrooms. There is the Twin Cities Emegent Cohort in a couple venues and Christarchy, at least. I'm not in the Twin Cities so, although I like to be "kept in the loop", I'm not really in a position to contribute much to the Twin Cities Emergent Cohort. I''m confused about the relationship between Christarchy and the Twin Cities Emergent Cohort pages that you are asking about on your new page in Ning (versus facebook). If you are "trying to get our communication decentralized, and allow for multiple groups/expressions for the Twin Cities Emergent Cohort," maybe you should drop the "Twin Cities" label. We in THE REST OF MINNESOTA might feel more enpowered if we didn't feel like everything has to happen in the Twin Cities.

I realize it seems like the truth is that, indeed, nothing does happen outside the twin cities, (Rochester group has 1 member), but stamping everything with a Twin Cities label might not help that situation.
