Christarchy!

Den här texten skrev jag här på Christarchy (http://www.christarchy.com/profiles/blogs/anabaptist-mission) juldagen 2008, och det var ett frö till diskussionerna om det anabaptistiska nätverket:

I always used to get so glad when I heard of great victories on the mission field, when millions of souls turned over to Christ. I even planned to be a missionary myself. But after a while, I got worried when I heard of such reports. There is a great risk that they do not turn over to Christ but to the Pharisee Church, the church that we are so familiar with, who think that moral issues and rules are more important than grace and mercy, who love war and wealth. I noticed with great sorrow that great poverty and war are usual in the South American and African countries where Christianity is main religion. And I almost cried when I read about the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda… a Christian rebel army with the charismatic spirit medium Joseph Cony as leader, who wage war in Uganda to establish the Kingdom of God on earth, a theocratic state based on the Ten Commandments. Awful. How can we know that the millions that become Christians really follow Christ in deeds and do not get polluted by all the heretics and bad theologies in the church? My plans of becoming a missionary totally crashed, and I almost became anti-mission.

But then, I read about the Mennonite Mission Network (http://www.mennonitemission.net/) and organizations such as Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission (http://www.aimmintl.org/) and Eastern Mennonite Mission (http://www.emm.org/cms/). My heart leaped for joy, and I couldn’t say anything but hallelujah. A mission network that teaches the new born souls biblical pacifism and poverty theology… that’s great. This is a mission network one must support and pray for. Their work is very important for God’s peace kingdom to expand.

There is no Anabaptist church in my country, Sweden. But a movement is rising there, although not a movement in the meaning institutions and church buildings. But individual souls from all over the body of Christ share the Anabaptist theology. My dream is a Mennonite Mission Network in Sweden too. Although we have to begin in our own country and sending out missionaries to the mission field after a while. It is just a very little idea, but I believe that with the help of the grace of the Almighty God, dreams can come true. Let’s pray for it.
